The Jockey Pump, a crucial part of a fire sprinkler system

NewsdeskLatest News 1 Comment

Jockey pumps are an important part of a fire sprinkler system. Basically they are small pumps connected to a fire protection piping system with the aim to maintain uniform or artificially high pressure in the pipes.

If a fire sprinkler is activated, there will be a pressure drop that will be sensed by the pump’s automatic controller. This will cause the fire pump to start and protect the fire pipe system from an in-rush of pressure or water hammer.

There are several types of jockey pump (also called sprinkler system pressure maintenance pump). Sale Engineering Products will supply the best solution for your specific needs.
