Following our move into our own building last month – just the week before Christmas, as we like to keep things ‘exciting’ – we thought an update on our progress might be interesting. There will be a few of these over the year!
The photo on the left shows our new workshop area, which is getting there in terms of tidiness and organisation. There is still a lot to do to get it where our MD wants it to be – but we have the workbench islands created, which will focus on our main product groups (Zone Guardian, Air Compressors, Pump Initiation Boards, Valves & Pumps). Component stock is still being organised to be as close as possible to the product-focused benches, in order to minimise down-time and inefficiency, and all specialised tools will be to hand.
We also have a ‘noisy test room’ for compressor which is double-glazed to allow the running units to be heard for quality assessment and monitoring, but not be too bothersome for our workshop staff. We also have our CE electrical test equipment in the workshop as opposed to having it in a different room as we did before.
The position of the workshop on our first floor means that there is plenty of natural light from the large windows, and we have a large upper loading bay to allow bulk components to be lifted up to our central storage area, whilst the completed finished goods are lifted down to our finished goods stores on the ground floor.
Less advanced at this stage, is the demo and training room (photo on the right). Watch this space over the next few months as we get this straight and look forward to inviting customers to view and familiarise themselves with our products!
