Our electric van-mounted Dry Riser Test Pump has been available for a few years now, and is growing in popularity amongst our forward-thinking customers who wish to save effort on a job, as well as reduce emissions and noise. Some of our customers now have over half a dozen of our models, so we know we are doing something right!
We have until recently used exclusively Grundfos CRi pumps; however, in order to prevent our prices from rising we are now using mainly Lowara eSV equivalents.
Our Lowara 1SV22 model is equivalent to the Grundfos CRi1-23, at 1.1kw, with Hmax 135m and Qmax slightly higher at 40lpm.
The Lowara 1SV27 model is equivalent to the Grundfos CRi1-30, at 1.5kw, with Hmax 164m and Qmax slightly higher at 40lpm.
In our opinion, and that of many customers, the Lowara is equal in quality to the Grundfos, but since we can source these pumps slightly cheaper through a new deal with Xylem, we are able to keep our costs down for longer – so it’s a win-win-win for all concerned!
We are of course fully aware that the ‘headline’ flow of these electric pumps is lower than, say, a petrol- or diesel-driven Godiva – however, as well as being significantly quieter (something which is growing in importance), we are informed by our customers who do the job out in the field that the overall job time is pretty much the same. So, if you do a lot of dry riser testing, then why not give ‘the new way’ a try?
