New global accreditation for SEP

As a quality manufacturer for over 35 years, SEP has always been focused on delivering what our customers want to the best of our ability – in fact, we have been ISO9001 (Quality Management Systems) accredited for exactly 23 years, having achieved our initial certification in August 2003!

Now, we are more than excited to announce that we have just achieved accreditation for ISO14001, Environmental Management Systems.

This has been one of our aims for some years, but it seemed like there was always something else getting in the way; however, with the recruitment of our new Operations Manager in July 2025, it was always a firm target to work towards. Anya has been instrumental in pulling together all of the information, systems and staff training that we needed to improve, and single-handedly managed the audits required (with zero non-conformance on our Stage 2 approval audit!) with the support of the rest of our committed team.

ISO14001 gives us a structured framework to identify, measure, manage and reduce the environmental impact we have through our operations, and looks at the whole chain from responsible sourcing through manufacturing and energy consumption all the way to packing, shipping and even what should happen when the products reach their end-of-life.

By no means were we ever wasteful and resource-intensive, if only for financial reasons, but now we have some additional focus to go even further in managing our finite resources, with targets including:

  • ZERO environmental incidents, including pollution or spillage
  • Reduction in energy used, per unit of sales
  • Reduction in non-recyclable waste disposal, per unit of sales

We know that we are a highly-trusted brand in the fire sprinkler sector, and we think that this latest achievement supports the trust that our customers place in us – not only to make ‘quite decent’ products, but to do so in a responsible and sustainable way. We also know it’s the right thing to do, despite some of the additional costs involved.

We’re really proud of this one; it was no mean feat, and we hope it shows our commitment to the industry – contact us if you want to know more.
