At SEP, we know that many customers are under constant competitive pressure, so we are always working hard to minimise our costs – last year, we had minimal increases on selected product lines, and this year will be the same.
We are not fans of cross-board increases, and therefore we have reviewed each of our products carefully and individually. In many cases we have decided to maintain our current pricing level, or even allow a reduction. We have done this by exerting our buying power on our customers’ behalf, changes in sourcing and/or design, or simply due to volume increases. For example, we have managed to reduce the prices on many of our larger belt-driven compressors, giving customers a viable option if our wall-mounted direct-drive machines are not powerful enough. Many of our standard compressor prices have also been held, although please note that two of our main lines are being discontinued in favour of upgraded units in the coming months. And, yet again, due to ongoing volume growth, we are maintaining our highly competitive pricing and discount structure for our ZONE GUARDIAN.
We have therefore done what we can, but we are no longer able to absorb all costs and must share the impact – as an example, our steel prices have increased 40% in the past 3 months, brass and other prices have also increased dramatically, in many cases well over 10%; the impact of Euro exchange rate movements last year shows no sign of reversing, and of course (despite what some may say) there IS a cost impact from Brexit due to additional import/export requirements.
As ever, we will continue to keep things under review and we always price fairly – and of course discounts are usually available for quantity and/or call-off orders.
