A New Coat

We have, for many years, had a wet paint spray booth here at SEP, and we have protected and ‘branded’ all of our products with a silver hammer paint finish. However, as hard as our specialists have tried, such a finish is affected greatly by temperature and humidity and we struggle to get a good and consistent finish on our larger pieces, especially in the winter months. In addition, we know that this finish was sometimes a tad brittle and could chip during building or installation (although obviously product performance was unaffected, when it doesn’t look top notch then first impressions are not what they should be).

Well, we’ve been working hard and experimenting with a local powder coater, and we are excited to announce that all of our compressor frames, air receivers and other fabricated steel platework are now being treated to a robust ‘silver hammer’ powder coating.

Not only does our new finish look great (this is an understatement – we all love it here), it’s extremely hard-wearing and will protect our metalwork for many years. We know from replacement orders that our compressors can last for 10, 15, even 20 years if well maintained. So now, both you and we, can be confident that they will look impressive as well as performing their duty for a long time.

In addition to the new stainless manifolds we introduced almost two years ago, this improvement raises our professional image even further.

This is not the last of the improvements we are working on, so watch this space!
