We promised you a number of exciting announcements this year, and this one is the BIGGEST!
It was in 2010 that we moved from our ‘garage in Warrington’ into our ‘slightly larger garage in Cheadle’, and 2017 that we moved to our proper workshop, also in Cheadle. This gave us twice the space plus benefits including being able to separate warehouse, workshop, testing and office areas, and we no longer had to share facilities.
Well, we’re more than a little excited to confirm that we have just completed on the actual purchase of what will be our new home – yes, our very own space, for the first time ever! It’s in Reddish, not too far from where we are now, so we’re still just off the M60.
This is, by far, the biggest investment that SEP has ever made, to enable us to continue to grow and support our loyal customers – our new home is more than triple the size of our existing (rented) abode, and comes with:
- a two-floor factory, which we will split between workspace and warehouse;
- separate outbuildings for additional storage;
- an integrated office block (interestingly converted from an old terraced house); and
- even our own secure parking/loading yard.
Over the next couple of months we will be investing further into creating:
- a customised workshop, with separate testing and QC areas;
- office space, next to and not separate from the workshop, as we’re all one team;
- a staff kitchen, dining and rest area, removing the (bad) habit of eating at desks and workbenches; and
- a SEP Demo & Training Room, along with a good-sized Meeting Room!
New Demo & Training Room
This is something our customers have been asking for and we’re delighted to finally be able to offer this facility. In due course, we will also develop a Product Room featuring a working example of each of our own products; Zone Guardian, compressors, Initiation boards, Alarm Valve Booster Pump, Priority Demand Valves, Resi riser with monitored valve, and more besides.
From early in 2023, we will be offering all customers the opportunity to come and see/touch/feel/use ALL of our products in action, where we can demonstrate beneficial features and train in selection, installation, use and maintenance of SEP products. We are also considering ‘guest’ bolt-ons to supplement our specialities with wider areas of knowledge.
