WHO ARE WE?
A small and rapidly-growing manufacturer of specialist components for FIRE SPRINKLER systems (test equipment, air compressors, booster pumps etc) – an important, interesting and growing industrial sector. Our focus is on quality, customer satisfaction and flexibility.

Due to SIGNIFICANT GROWTH – driven by our ‘yes’ attitude, focus on new product development and globally-recognised product approvals – we are recruiting…again!

You must have a basic knowledge (of engineering, manufacturing or fire sprinkler products), but equally importantly is the right attitude – interested in this growing business and industry, eager to learn, and an ability to gel with the team and our customers. This is an important NEW ROLE in the business, aiming to free up the MD from the day-to-day in order to focus on further growth. You are not expected to have immediate detailed knowledge of our products or the industry – what we do is quite unique –the ‘perfect person from day one’ probably doesn’t exist, so with the right mind-set you will learn and develop quickly on the job and set your own potential.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
This is potentially one of the most interesting roles you will have undertaken – due to our size, there is lots of opportunity for variety and learning; just a few examples include:

  • Understanding our whole product range and its applications, so you will be able to assist the office team with determining what our customers need (they don’t always know themselves);
  • Managing/planning component and finished goods stock;
  • Work with the production supervisor to clarify priorities, and assist with planning and organisation;
  • Liaising with key customers and suppliers;
  • Dealing with technical and complex customer and end-user enquiries;
  • Listening to customers about their needs, so we can continually improve;
  • Working with production staff to maximise production efficiencies and standardise methods.

WHO ARE YOU?
Of course you must have some background in engineering/manufacturing, be fully fluent in English to understand customer needs; you must have a customer-centric and ‘quality is everything’ viewpoint; other than that, your experience and qualifications may be varied.
You will have an interest in and develop a capability for understanding our products (what/why/how) and where they fit in the context of fire protection systems; you will always want to make things better (for us and the customer, easier, quicker, and cheaper).
Our business ethos is what’s got us here, so you will demonstrate (1) responsiveness, (2) flexibility, and (3) quality focus.

The successful applicant will likely need significant on-the-job training through working with and shadowing the MD and others, and will quickly be able to work alone for short periods whilst developing knowledge and confidence. SOME knowledge and aligned experience is necessary BUT, your attitude and outlook is just as important.

AND?
Pay rates will depend on what you bring and how you develop, so the range is large – probably somewhere between £25-30k to start. A pension scheme is available, and the company operates a turnover-based monthly bonus scheme (which pays!).

You will probably not have heard of us, but our name is known in our industry for quality and reliability – this is an exciting time for us, and we are always keen to recruit the right people to help us succeed.

SO…?
Might you be able to offer some of what we’re asking for straight away, but are willing to learn quickly because this sounds interesting? Drop us a line!

We do NOT want to hear from any agencies in respect of this or any other role.

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Bonus scheme
  • Flexible working hours
  • On-site parking
  • Education reimbursement

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £25,000.00 to £30,000.00 /year
